Eleanor Rose Suttle

Update:

Dear friends and family,

Eleanor’s latest MRI results were stable, meaning nothing has spread outside of her eyes. Her recent EUA showed re-occurrence of the main tumor mass in the right eye and new seed tumors in the left eye. This is not good news but all in all she is doing good and loving life. Our prayer is that proton radiation will take care of all of this.

Our visit to Bloomington, IN, has been nice. The team of caregivers at MPRI has been reassuring and they really care about Eleanor and our family. Proton treatment is scheduled to start October 20th and continue five days a week for 5 weeks. We have found an apartment and will be moving up on October 18th. Bloomington is a very comfortable community. It reminds us of Fayetteville.

Our journey with Eleanor has been an emotional one, highs and lows, uncertainties and reassurances, but at the end of each long day our family has found peace in knowing that all of you are holding us up with your love and prayers and that God’s angels are keeping our little girl so secure.

When our cry for help went out just a couple of weeks ago we were not sure how it would all play out, but we knew that Eleanor would somehow get the treatment she needs no matter what happened. Thanks to the quick outpouring of support from friends, family, churches, businesses, organizations, strangers and God our cry has been answered. Eleanor's medical financial needs HAVE BEEN MET….. Your overwhelming response has also inspired and influenced Eleanor's amazing caregivers at St. Jude’s to join our fund raising efforts. St. Jude’s has agreed to cover all medical costs beyond what has been raised!!!

We would like to send out a huge thank you to all involved. Without your overwhelming show of support this could not have been possible. Any additional funds raised will go to help our family with travel and living expenses while in Indiana and funds above and beyond that will be put into a fund to help other families in similar situations.

Thanks again to every one of you. You are all a part of Eleanor's Army of Angels.

Peace in prayer,

Suttle family

Eleanor Rose Suttle, daughter of Clayton & Meredith Suttle was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma (cancer in both eyes) on June 13, 2007. She has been in treatment at St. Jude’s Research Center in Memphis since that time and has undergone chemo and laser therapy. Her cancer has returned and her doctors have recommended Proton radiation ASAP. There are only 5 clinics in the U.S. that administer proton radiation. They have been referred to MPRI in Bloomington, Indiana. This procedure will be very expensive, $140,000 out of pocket. $70,000 will have to be paid up front before the procedure begins. They need to start this procedure next week, so we don’t have much time!

Please pray for a cure for cancer. If you can donate, please send a gift to Eleanor. With God’s blessing and your help, we can get the treatment Eleanor needs so badly.
